Esther 01 Introduction |
3213 |
Esther is the greatest book in the Bible on the providence of God. God is ruling behind the scenes to preserve His people that said no to coming out of Babylon (bondage and worldliness). The legalist and the worldly Christian would be destroyed if it weren't for the invisible God ruling the affairs of men. |

Esther 02 The Providence Of God |
3213 |
"The providence of God," assures Ed, "is designed to give every Christian the utmost confidence in the utmost danger in the darkest hour." God can accomplish His ends by very insignificant means, such as King Ahasuerus having a sleepless night--that preserved not only Mordecai from hanging on the gallows but a nation and the Messianic line. |

Esther 03 The God of Providence |
3213 |
God rules the good and overrules the evil to rescue His people from themselves and to destroy the enemy. God is in charge of every decision, whether it be the fickle king or compromising saints. Mordecai and Esther made unwise decisions but God turned them for His own sovereign purposes. |

Esther 04 Chapter 01-06 The Providence Of God |
3213 |
Even when God's people sin, God is still in control. Mordecai's disrespect for civil authority (Haman) stirred up a plot to exterminate all the Jews--including the remnant in Jerusalem. Haman the Agagite goes back to the ungodly line of Esau and pictures flesh versus the spirit, but the "elder" (the flesh) shall serve the "younger" (the spirit) at the end. |

Esther 05 Chapter 01-06 Conclusion |
3213 |
God overrules the evil nature of man, as seen by Haman suddenly getting self-control when he saw his hated enemy Mordecai. Knowing that the Lord can restrain sinners from doing what they want to do brings a real rest. Ed's prayer is: "Lord, make the providence of God a mighty factor in my life." |

Esther 06 The Feast Of Esther |
3213 |
God is the God who engineers delays for His people as well as for the heathen. Even with wicked Haman God was delaying and trying to bring him to the end of himself. How God turned the curse onto a blessing was seen in sackcloth and ashes, fasting and "faith", but the people returned only to the picture and not to the Lord. |

Esther 07 Warfare Conclusion |
3213 |
God has three principles of victory to those who say no: 1) self-defense against the enemy, 2) God putting fear on the nations, and 3) gaining the plunder from the enemy. The feast of Purim is a worldly celebration centered in man, characterized by reviling the enemy, party time, and deliberately leaving God out. |
