(Leaven 01) Beware the Leaven |
Ed teaches what Scripture has to say about leaven as a corrupting influence and its characteristics. Its danger is that it is like a cancer that decays the quality of everything it touches. To begin to understand what Jesus meant by the "leaven of the Pharisees", we must first understand who the Pharisees were. |

(Leaven 02) Beware of the Leaven of the Pharisees |
The Pharisees were intentional hypocrites (play actors). Ed brings out 10 expressions of hypocrisy as they appear in Matthew 23, such as human approbation, externalism and spiritual elitism. God's cure for hypocrisy is the provision of His Son, becoming like Jesus as He is by looking to Him alone. |

(Leaven 03) Beware of the Leaven of Herod |
Ed gives the history behind the Herods to give the proper biblical context what Jesus meant by the "leaven of Herod". That leaven is being "gospel hardened"--asking great questions but not for salvation or fellowship with God. They robe and crown Christ but live lives that are a mockery. You can't pull this leaven out; just look to Christ. |
