Summary | We all have a Pharisee heart. Man has a way of substituting the Word of God with traditions to measure the spiritual health or individuals or groups. Tradition is the whole list of man's interpretation or application of the law of God (e.g. creeds, special days, etc.). Life can never be substituted by something that is an expression of life. The real servant, patterned after the Amazing Servant, has a life of liberty in the Spirit and will never be mastered by a religious creed. Every Christian has a rich, intuitive relationship to the Lord. The real servant recognizes the heart as the chief source of defilement.
