Summary | The root of every spiritual problem is always my knowledge of God; the solution is to go forward in the knowledge of God, as illustrated by the rebuilding of the wall. After the wall was built, the frustration of the old covenant vow at the end of Ezra gives way to the pure gladness and joy that comes from a heart knowledge of the Word of God. The new covenant vow to devote myself to this Book, rest and surrender is qualitatively different than the old covenant vow to quit sinning. |
