| Summary | The second step in Jonah becoming a sign was the great miracle of God's mercy on Jonah to give him a heart like His! Our Lord Jesus put Jonah in the shoes of the heathen, using the belly of the great fish to show him the wrath HE deserved. A missionary who has been made into a sign is not some hero who goes to rescue the cannibal but stands on the same level ground in need of God's mercy. What was poetry for Jonah in his expressions of being cast off from God were quite literally true of Jesus on the cross! |
